  • Airbus Italia is the Italian footprint of Airbus Defence and Space. It is based in Rome, where both Headquarters and Industrial Plant are located. It operates in the satellite telecommunications sector, working on a large number of major Italian and international space programmes. Its core business focuses on 4 main areas: SatCom Mobile Solutions, Connectivity Products, Bespoke Products, Production.

  • We are an Italian company founded in 1994, employing over 100 men and women, passionate and skilled in Geomatics, Earth sciences and software for space missions. We develop systems and services for processing cartographic and satellite data aimed at creating geo-localised knowledge in different fields.

  • Nanoracks is dedicated to using our unique expertise to solve key problems both in space and on the Earth – all while lowering the barriers to entry in space exploration.

    Three pillars drive us forward:

Focusing on the customer – this is about realizing your dreams in space.

Owning and operating the next generation of low-cost, agile space stations.

Solving key challenges afflicting life on Earth and long-duration space exploration by undertaking innovations in microgravity research and manufacturing.

So, how are we doing this?

Since our inception, Nanoracks has been committed to stimulating market demand across all orbiting platforms with our focus on our customers and their requirements. This allowed new users, from students to researchers, space-hardened veterans from government space agencies and industry alike, to conduct research, design experiments, tinker, make mistakes, and realize wonderful breakthroughs in low-Earth orbit and beyond.

Nanoracks started as a payload provider to ISS and built the first commercially independent space business. However, our intention always was to grow Nanoracks into the premier supplier of systems and capabilities that would enable a truly commercially viable LEO economy. Now that transportation for humans and cargo is becoming more routine, we are working to develop multiple in-space destinations.

Nanoracks is building Starlab, the world’s first free-flying commercial space station, which will open new doors for business and science in space. We are also building the tools to re-purpose in-space hardware (‘space junk’) and turn it into Outposts – agile autonomous space platforms ideal for technology development and test.

Our vision is dedicated to a near-term future where the space frontier produces factories, laboratories, greenhouses, and hotels that change the Earth, and our journey into space, for the better. We believe our proven space station expertise will enable a new generation of researchers and entrepreneurs to produce high-quality fiber optics, print innovative tissues, and organs, advance new crops, allow more and more people to live and work safely in space, and show how the best of our imagination can thrive in the still widely unknown world of space.

We invite you to journey with us. Let us make your dreams of exploration come true.

  • Aiko is the European Leader providing autonomous AI-based solutions for space sector. Thanks to our powerful R&D processes, at the core of every product and technology developed by our team, our products empower real-time decision-making, enhance mission efficiency, and prolong spacecraft lifespan.

  • Apogeo Space is an innovative Italian start up focused on building a constellation of satellites to provide a global telecommunication service for the IoT (Internet of Things), connecting low power and low data rate devices located in remote or poorly connected areas. Some of the application sectors are: agriculture, infrastructures, environment, oil & gas, maritime, logistic/transportation, livestock, research and more, while our partners and target-clients are the IoT Solution providers and System integrators with whom we have already started collaborations.

In 2022 the company received a 5M€ round of financing from Primo Space, the first Italian Venture Capital on the space economy business. The financing is focused on building the first private Italian satellite constellation in LEO (Low Earth Orbit), to provide affordable satellite IoT telecommunication services all over the world. Our technology, made of picosatellites weighting less than 1kg, is flight proven thanks to the successful launch of two technology demonstrators FEES1 - March 2021 and FEES2 - December 2021. The launch of the first batch, that will already provide global coverage, is booked for November 2023, and in 2027 the constellation will be composed of 96 satellites.

Active since 2015, Apogeo has contributed to the development of major projects by ESA (European Space Agency), ASI (Italian Space Agency) and NASA, often in collaboration with major research institutions including INAF (National Institute of Astrophysics), INFN (National Institute of Nuclear Physics), Brera Astronomical Observatory, Bologna Astronomical Observatory and Milan Polytechnic University.

  • The International Space University (ISU) develops the future leaders of the world space community by providing interdisciplinary educational programs to students and space professionals in an international, intercultural environment. ISU has been since 1987 the sole university worldwide devoted entirely to space education. Today, ISU is made up of a unique network around the world with a Central Campus in Strasbourg, France at the heart of Europe, with hubs in North America and the Asia-Pacific region, and partnerships with leading space organizations worldwide. ISU is a 36-year success story with 5600 alumni shaping the international space ecosystem in 112 countries, including astronauts and entrepreneurs along with current and former space industry and government leaders. ISU is a private non-profit institution.
